PENDLETON 3, VALE 1 — The Bucks remain unbeaten on their home court this season after a 25-16, 25-27, 25-20, 25-16 nonleague victory over the Vikings.
“Vale brought a very tough defensive game tonight that challenged us,” Pendleton coach Jodi Primus said. “The girls continued to hit hard and find holes, and had to battle hard as a team. We passed well overall and dug a lot of balls up which allowed us to continue to run our offense. We have a strong offense, so when we are passing well, we are a very strong team.”
Sophie Nelson and Avery Brown each had a hand in 12 blocks, while Finley Evans led the team with 16 digs and a 2.0/3 serve receive average.
“Josie Jenness (9 digs) was all over the floor tonight digging and setting, which played a significant role in our success,” Primus said. “We played with heart and stayed focused on our game and didn’t let them rattle us.”
The Bucks (8-3 overall) will play Oct. 2 at La Grande.
