PENDLETON — Pendleton shook off some opening-home match jitters to beat 5A Redmond 25-15, 25-20, 18-25, 25-15 on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Warberg Court.
“We can play much better, but we pulled off a win,” Pendleton coach Jodi Primus said. “We didn’t serve well tonight. We missed 16 serves and still managed to make up for it.”
Freshman MJ Gomez led the Bucks (4-0) with 21 kills and 10 digs, while Caitlin Cooley had 19 assists, Maryn Broker 13 assists, Finley Evans 29 digs and McKinley Moore 10 digs.
“Avery Brown hit well with a 42% kill percentage, but didn’t get as many opportunities as we need her to get,” Primus said. “This was a good opportunity again to see where we can make some improvements. I appreciate the girls’ determination and team effort.”
