HELIX — Pilot Rock had 21 aces as a team in handing Griswold a 25-13, 25-10, 25-5 Old Oregon League loss on Thursday, Sept. 25.
“We have been spending some time focusing on our mental game and how to show up for our team, and that showed on the court tonight,” PR coach Jen Porter said. “Everyone played great tonight, and with a lot of energy I am so proud of them. We are looking forward to playing on Saturday.”
Coley Gibbs led the Rockets (5-6 overall, 2-3 OOL) with 10 digs and eight aces, while Gracee Hemphill added nine kills and one block, Kashley Golden six kills and nine digs, Aubrey Corwin 10 assists and five aces, and Kessa Litfin five kills.
The Grizzlies (3-11, 1-3) lost their fourth match in a row.
“Plain and simple, we didn’t show up and play our game today,” Griswold coach Kaitlyn Fergus said. “We tried some new rotations and that didn’t work for us. Back to the drawing board and thankful we have a couple of nonleague games to work on trying some things out.”
