UNION — Crane, ranked second in the 1A poll, fought off Weston-McEwen for a 25-14, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15 victory Saturday, Sept. 27 at Union High School.
The TigerScots (6-7) also beat Union in three sets, but the scores were not available.
“We served well today, putting pressure on the other teams,” W-M coach Marie Cain said. “Particularly against Union, totaling 10 aces with Bree (Perkins), Reagan (Pickard) and Kalia (Ward) having three each. We ran some different lineups today and the girls did a good job of adjusting.”
On the day, Charlotte Hansell led W-M with 20 kills and 20 digs, Addy Hall had 11 kills and 14 digs, Pickard had 29 assists, four kills and two blocks, Perkins had 27 digs, Kayli Choin had five kills and three blocks, and Megan McLouth had 11 digs.
