MISSION — Imbler made the trip off the mountain and picked up a pair of Old Oregon League matches on Saturday, Oct. 4, over Pilot Rock and Nixyaawii.
“Overall, a strong day as we push through our league schedule,” Imbler coach Jennifer Teeter said.
Imber (16-7 overall, 6-0 OOL) beat the Golden Eagles 25-12, 25-18, 25-10. Devon Hall Spencer led Nixyaaii with three aces and two kills, while Liana Stewart had two kills and Neveah Moore two aces.
The Panthers topped the Rockets 25-10, 25-7, 25-23 in their first match of the day.
“We started a little slow, but things started clicking in the third set,” PR coach Jen Porter said. “We were missing one of our starting middles so it took us a few sets to find the right rotation. Imbler was very aggressive hitting today and played great defense, which made it hard to score.
Kashley Golden had three kills and nine digs for the Rockets (6-10, 3-5), while Kessa Litfin had three kills, four aces and five assists, Coley Gibbs 10 digs, and Aubrey Corwin three aces and three assists.
On the day, Isla Howard led the Panthers with 15 kills, 12 digs, and was 14 of 15 serving with two aces. Jeytt Cant added 14 kills and two aces, while Kali Camp had 11 kills, Cora Royes eight kills, and Maggie Pahlow five kills and seven blocks.
Whitney Haddock handed out 25 assists and had five aces, while Olivia Haddock had 27 assists, and Alondra Camacho 11 digs, 19 serve receptions, and was 10 of 10 serving with one ace.
COVE 3, PILOT ROCK 0 — Serve receive issues plagued the Rockets as the visiting Leopards escaped with a 25-19, 25-12, 25-21 Old Oregon League win.
“We had a hard time running our offense,” PR coach Jen Porter said. “Coley Gibbs played extremely well. She hit a .272 and had no errors.”
Gibbs also served at 100% with three aces, had six kills and 13 digs. Kashley Golden added four kills and three aces, while Aubrey Corwin had seven digs and five assists, and Kessa Litfin six assists and four aces.
