Pendleton sweeps Baker in GOL action

BAKER CITY — Avery Brown had 11 kills, and Kelsi Primus added nine kills to lead Pendleton to a 25-18, 25-18, 25-16 Greater Oregon League victory over Baker.

“The girls did a good job tonight following our game plan and staying positive through all the ups and downs,” Pendleton coach Jodi Primus said. “Sophie Nelson was a great leader tonight and played well in all aspects of the game. She was solid in serve receiving, serving, blocking and she also hit well. She played top notch tonight.”

Nelson had six kills, three solo blocks, four block assists, seven digs, two aces and she had a 2.5/3 serve receive average. Braelyn Gunter added five kills, two block assists, three aces and served for 11 points, including eight in a row at one to bring the Bucks back from a deficit. 

MJ Gomez chipped in five kills, two block assists, and 17 service points with four aces, while Finley Evans had 21 digs, and Caitlin Cooley 33 assists.

The fifth-ranked Bucks (13-3 overall, 3-0 GOL) will play a nonleague match Oct. 14, at Vale.
