VALE — Pendleton ran its record to 14-3 overall with a 25-14, 25-21, 25-21 nonleague win over the Vikings on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Fourth-ranked Pendleton, which won its sixth match in a row, had 21 blocks as a team and missed just three serves.
“We played great all-around volleyball tonight,” Pendleton coach Jodi Primus said. “Our blocking game was phenomenal. We had 28 kills and 53 digs as a team. It was fun to sit back and watch how well the girls worked together, kept the energy positive and maintained their focus throughout the changes in momentum.”
MJ Gomez led the Bucks in kills with 10 and had a 63% kill percentage. Avery Brown had 11 block assists and three solo blocks, Sophie Nelson had 19 service points, and Caitlin had 23 assists.
“Caitlin stayed steady for us at setter all night,” Primus said. “She led the offense early well with her timing of set choices and setting up our hitters for success. Finley (Evans) did a great job in the back row, picking up about everything that came her way.”
Evans had 20 digs and a 2.13/3 receive average.
The Bucks will host Ontario on Thursday in a Greater Oregon League match.
