PILOT ROCK — Seniors Kashley Golden, Aubrey Corwin and Coley Gibbs were honored before the game, then they went out and played a strong match as Pilot Rock made quick work of winless Dayville/Monument/Long Creek 25-12, 25-9, 25-14 in nonleague play.
“They showed up tonight,” PR coach Jen Porter said of her seniors. “They are a very special group of girls. They were freshmen my first year as head coach and it has been great watching them grow and improve over the past four seasons.”
Golden finished the night with eight kills, eight aces and two blocks for the Rockets (8-10 overall), while Gibbs had seven kills and eight digs, and Corwin eight digs, six aces and 12 assists. Kessa Litfin added eight digs and eight assists.
Pilot Rock served at 92% as a team with 26 aces.
“It was really nice to be able to run our offense and get some big swings for the home crowd,” Porter said.
