MISSION — No. 2 Imbler had four players in double figures, led by London Kunz with 14 points, for a 65-31 Old Oregon League win over the Golden Eagles on Friday night.

“Imbler is a great team,” Nixyaawii coach Fred Grass said. “The girls are learning and improving each game. I’m always proud of them, especially how they play against tough teams.”

Kunz had 10 of her points in the first quarter as Imbler took a 25-6 lead. Whitney Haddock and Olivia Haddock each had five points in the second as the Panthers extended their lead to 40-15 at the half.

Imbler (14-3 overall, 4-1 OOL), which sat its starters in the fourth quarter, outscored the Nixyaawii 25-16 in the second half to run its win streak to five games.

Emma Star-Nez, Annalise Watchman and Cryssa Kirkie all had six points for the Golden Eagles (7-12, 2-3).

Madilyn Burright added 12 points for the Panthers, nine of which came in the fourth quarter, while Olivia Haddock had 11 and Whitney Haddock 10.

“Really proud of our team effort,” Imbler coach Darci Sweet said. “Defensively, we are communicating very well and capitalizing on it. We are really in rhythm offensively and sharing the ball and finishing much better than we were earlier in the season.”
