PILOT ROCK — Eighth-ranked Pilot Rock put together a 23-15 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 74-65 Old Oregon League win Tuesday over Echo.
Pilot Rock (16-3 overall, 4-1 OOL) held a 15-12 lead in the first quarter, but the Cougars rallied to pull with 24-23 at the half.
Each team scored 17 points in the third quarter as Pilot Rock went into the fourth with a 51-50 lead.
The game featured eight lead changes, seven ties and just 18 turnovers between the two teams.
The Rockets got a game-high 39 points and 19 rebounds from Sun Schimmel, while Tate Thacker added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Gage Williams added nine points and 11 rebounds.
Mack Murdock led the Cougars with 23 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots, while Kohlvin Wyse had 17 points and five rebounds, Cole Ayers 12 points, and Tyler Campbell nine points, five rebounds and eight assists.
