MISSION — Kenzie Hendrix had 13 points and three steals to help Echo to a 48-21 Old Oregon League win Thursday over Nixyaawii.
Echo (19-3 overall, 8-1 OOL) sits atop the Meacham half of the OOL with one game remaining, Feb. 13 at Cove.
The Cougars took control of the game from the start, scoring the first basket, and at one point in the game, went on a 30-3 run.
Echo led 10-2 after the first quarter, 26-15 at the half, then went on a 19-0 run in the third quarter for a commanding 45-15 lead.
Jaycee Campbell added 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals for Echo, while Jude Royer had eight points, six rebounds and four steals, and Cam Estes had eight points, 19 rebounds and four steals. Lilah Miller chipped in seven steals.
Freshman Cryssa Kirkie led the Golden Eagles (8-14, 3-5) with 10 points and three blocked shots, while Annalise Watchman had five points and four rebounds, and Gracie Wilson had five points, four rebounds and four steals.
Nixyaawii will play Saturday at Griswold in an OOL matchup.
