Pendleton relay teams come up short of finals at state meet

BEAVERTON — The Pendleton girls 200 free relay team of Avery Pitner, Elizabeth Currin, Maryn Broker and Sophie Nelson finished eighth in the prelims at the 4A/3A/2A/1A Swimming State Championships at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center. The team turned in a time of 1:51.66.

The same quartet turned in a time of 4:15.49 to finish 10th in the 400 free relay.

Neither team made the finals, which includes the top six teams or individuals in each event.
