VALE — Pendleton went 3-1 in their singles matches, but the Vikings swept the doubles for a 4-3 Special District 5 win on Thursday afternoon.
Vale’s Bristol Keller won the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-3 over McKinley Moore, but it was all Pendleton from there.
Noemi Alvarez-Barroso won the No. 2 match with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Kynisen Ellis, and Olivia Allen beat Lilly Kamenicky 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. Kamryn Matteson finished off the singles with an 8-2 win over Rachel Ainsworth.
Vale opened the doubles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory by Megan Schoorl and Ellie Seals over Isabelle Bernier and Hannah Morioka.
At No. 2, Ella Nieskens and Janet Gonzalez beat Avery Pitner and Avery Brown 6-0, 6-1, and at No. 3, Marli Bennett and Hazel McKrola topped Madelyn Gunter and Jules Gunter 6-2, 6-2.
Lilly Esquivel and Mackenzie Evers wrapped things up with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Pendleton’s Miracle Edmiston and Amelia Thompson.

VALE 4, PENDLETON 1 — The Bucks got one singles win in a Special District 5 match dominated by the host Vikings.
Adam Harrison won the No. 2 singles match for Pendleton, beating Uriel Madrano 6-4, 2-6, 10-4.
Vale’s Eli Seals won the No. 1 singles match with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sam Larson.
In doubles, Vale’s Jordan Bates and Christian Rosales won the No. 1 match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Caden Crowder and Will Larsen.
At No. 2, Etienne Armstrong and Angel Medrano recorded a 6-1, 6-4 win over Thor Case and Cooper Crosby, and Vale wrapped up the match as Wyatt Estes and Bruce Atkinson beat Henry Mullen and Jordan Hantke 6-3, 7-5.
