SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Riverdale Ridge scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally for a 9-8 victory over Pendleton on Tuesday at the Coach Bob Invitational in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Ravens had taken a 3-0 lead after the first inning, with the Bucks getting one back in the top of the third.
In the top of the fifth, Pendleton put six runs on the board as a Colin Harrington double put one run across the plate, followed by a double by Nate Driskell that scored two more runs.
A hit batter put another run across, and a two-run single by Grayson English gave Pendleton a 7-3 lead.
The Ravens answered in the bottom of the inning with six runs of their own for a 9-7 lead.
The Bucks scored once in the sixth to pull within 9-8, but could not catch the Ravens.
Driskell went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Bucks, while Harrington went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Landon Auen led the Ravens, going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Noah Villarreal had a triple and two RBIs.
PINE CREEK (CO) 9, PENDLETON 2 — The Eagles took an early lead and the Bucks struggled to get their offense going as Pine Creek picked up a win at the Coach Bob Invitational.
Pine Creek scored four runs in the first innings, then added one run in the second, third and fourth innings.
The Bucks (2-5) put two runs on the board in the top of the sixth off an Eli Smidt sacrifice fly and an RBI single by Aaden Hernandez.
The Eagles scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to close out the scoring.
Vance Nelson had three of the Bucks’ five hits, with Hernandez and Kolt McQuinn having the other two. Kyle McDonnell went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Eagles, while Tristan Mullis went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three runs scored.
