PENDLETON — Nate Driskell hit a grand slam in the first inning and Pendleton cruised from there for a 9-3 nonleague win over Philomath on Saturday at Bob White Field.
Pendleton (5-6), which has won three in a row, scored six runs in the first, then added two in the fourth and one in the sixth for good measure.
In the fourth, Vance Nelson hit an RBI single, and another run scored off a Grayson English sacrifice fly for an 8-1 lead.
In the sixth, Driskell finished the scoring on an error by Philomath pitcher AJ Altishin.
Colin Harrington got the win for the Bucks, throwing five innings of one-hit ball. He allowed three runs while striking out six and walking three. Keli Spencer threw the last two innings, allowing no hits while striking out two.
English drove in two runs, while Red Furstenberg hit a double.
Gavin Bennett drove in two runs for the Warriors (4-4).
PILOT ROCK 5-15, COVE/UNION 2-5 — Gage Williams threw a four-hitter and struck out 11 in the first game as the Rockets started their sweep of visiting CU Baseball to improve to 3-0 in Special District 7 play.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first inning, but the Rockets (4-2) scored twice in the third and twice in the fifth to pull away for the win.
Tate Thacker went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Rockets, while Tucker Holton hit a double.
CU Baseball’s Jonah Jayne was equally as impressive on the mound, allowing five runs on four hits while striking out 13 and walking four.
In the second game, Lucas Thieme went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs to lead the Rockets to victory.
Tied at 3-3 heading into the bottom of the third inning, Pilot Rock scored eight runs to take control of the game. The Rockets would add four runs in the fourth for a 15-3 lead.
Thacker went 4 2/3 innings for the Rockets, allowing four runs on two hits while striking out eight and walking five.
Kash Carreiro went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for CU Baseball (2-5, 1-2).

PILOT ROCK 9-8, WALLOWA VALLEY 5-5 — The Rockets improved to 9-0 on the season with a sweep of the 3A Outlaws in Enterprise.
In the first game, Coley Gibbs hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth to give the Rockets a little breathing room with an 8-4 lead.
Kashley Golden hit an RBI single in the ninth to help seal the win for the Rockets.
Hailey Thieme went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Pilot Rock, while Jada Deist pitched a complete game with three strikeouts and no walks.
Bella Russell hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth for Wallowa Valley, while Zoey Shasteen hit a double and drove in two runs.
In the second game, the Rockets held an 8-2 lead after five innings, then held off a rally by Wallow Valley late in the game to complete the sweep.
The Outlaws scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth, but only sent three batters to the plate in the seventh as the Rockets quashed the rally.
Thieme hit a three-run home run in the Rockets’ four-run third inning, and Autumn Severe had two hits, an RBI and two stolen bases. Rylee McKee hit a solo home run in the sixth for the Outlaws, while Savanna Rynearson went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.
