TigerScots girls shine, boys fall after strong fight

ATHENA — Top-ranked Weston-McEwen held Enterprise to just five points in the second half en route to a 50-21 Blue Mountain Conference win Friday night.

Charlotte Hansell scored eight of her 14 points in the first quarter as Weston-McEwen rolled out to a 14-7 lead. Lily Langford scored none of her 12 in the second as the TigerScots enjoyed a 27-16 lead at the half.

A 17-4 run in the third quarter helped Weston-McEwen put the game out of reach.

Addy Hall added 11 points for the TigerScots, while Brooklyn Parker chipped in five.

Elli Bates led Enterprise with six points, while Kyra Brown had five.

TigerScots boys give No. 9 Outlaws a battle

ENTERPISE 61, ATHENA 53 — Weston-McEwen gave No. 9 Enterprise all it could handle, but the TigerScots fell short in a 61-53 Blue Mountain Conference game Friday night.

“After a slow start, my guys came out with guts,” Weston-McEwen coach Becky Kane said. “We stayed right with Enterprise for the last three quarters. This was a great game. I knew we’d come together. I’m so proud of them. Looking forward to Irrigon tomorrow.”

The Outlaws (12-6 overall, 4-2 BMC) jumped out to a 17-11 lead in the first quarter, but rallied in the second to cut the lead to 30-25 at the half.

Each team scored 19 points in the third quarter, and Enterprise gave itself a little breathing room with a 12-9 run in the fourth quarter.

Jace Dunlap led the TigerScots (3-16, 0-6) with 21 points, while Colby Perkins added 12, Tim Taylor nine and Jonny Leighty seven.

Dawson Cudmore and Kason Mitchell each had 18 points for the Outlaws.
