PILOT ROCK DROPS 2

The Rockets had a tough day at the Central Christian Tournament, dropping matches to St. Paul and Central Christian.

“We played two solid teams that performed well last season,” Pilot Rock coach Jen Porter said. St. Paul was sixth overall in 1A.”

In their first match against the Buckaroos, the Rockets fell behind early in the first two sets before falling 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.

Jada Deist and Gracee Hemphill each had three kills in the match, while Coley Gibbs and Kessa Litfin each had seven digs, while Hemphill added three blocks and Aubrey Corwin handed out seven assists.

Against Central Christian, Kashley Golden had four kills and one block, and Gibbs had 10 digs, but the Rockets fell short 25-14, 25-9, 25-14.

“We had trouble getting into a rhythm,” Porter said. “We had some great plays, but were inconsistent enough that we couldn’t maintain a lead. We are looking forward to tomorrow when this group plays to their potential. They are really exciting to watch.” The Rockets will play Jordan Valley and Culver on Saturday.
