ELGIN 3, PILOT ROCK 0 — The Huskies improved to 7-4 on the season with a 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 nonleague win over the Rockets in Helix.

“We played more consistent, but still need to be more aggressive and intentional with where we send the ball,” Elgin coach Haylee McNall said. “I’m proud of my team for not letting up and taking care of business in three sets.”

Izzy Fox led the Huskies with five kills and two tip kills, while Olivia Farris and Kennedy Moore each had three dump kills.

Coley Gibbs had 18 digs for the Rockets, while Abbigail Johnson had 10 digs and four aces. Kashley Golden led Pilot Rock with six kills, while Gracee Hemphill and Lillie Holman each had four. Aubrey Corwin had nine assists.

“Coley and Abbigail did a great job, we just had too many offensive errors to take control of the match,” PR coach Jen Porter said.


PINE EAGLE 3, PILOT ROCK 1 — The Spartans rallied from a 2-1 deficit to escape with a 25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 25-15, 15-10 nonleague win over the Rockets in Helix.

“Pine Eagle was a great back-and-forth match,” PR coach Jen Porter said. “They were very scrappy. Kessa did a great job offensively, and our defense worked really hard.” Abbigail Johnson, Coley Gibbs and Kessa Litfin all had 12 digs for the Rockets, while Litfin also had nine kills and six assists. Lillie Holman and Aubrey Corwin each added five kills, while Corwin also had 10 assists and six aces. Gracee Hemphill also had six aces.
