BOARDMAN — Hugo Ceron and Jose Flores each scored two goals as Riverside shut out Pendleton 8-0 to win their fifth game in a row.
“We knew we had to play together and find our rhythm from the beginning of the game,” Riverside coach Juan Dueñas said. “We knew we couldn’t afford to lose the ball at any time. Our team played really well.”
Juan Flores, Billy Gomez, Wilson Rodriguez and Eleazar Salas each had one goal for Riverside (6-2-1). Christian Espain had zero saves in the first half for the Pirates, while Hector Magallanes had zero saves in the second half.
Pendleton (3-5), which has lost two in a row, got 10 saves from sophomore goalkeeper Jared Pace.
