PENDLETON 1, ONTARIO 0 — Aly Phelps scored the game’s only goal in the second half to lead Pendleton to a 1-0 Greater Oregon League win over Ontario.
“We are continuing to find our team identity as we head into October,” Pendleton coach Kiana Rickman said. “Players are being challenged to play new positions. Aly is an example of those changes really making a difference right now.”
Phelps was eager to help her team be successful.
“Just because you try and try and fail each time doesn’t mean the next time you’ll fail,” Phelps said. “Sometimes all it takes is trial and error and a great team to back you up.”
Goalkeeper Citlalli Garcia finished with seven saves for the Bucks, who will host Umatilla on Thursday.
