Cove shuts out Pilot Rock

ANNIE FOWLER, The CUJ

COVE — Cove picked up its first Special District 3 win of the season with a 44-0-win Thursday night over Pilot Rock.

“It was rough,” PR coach Shane Munkers said. “Not a lot of yards offensively. Carter VanHouten got hurt last week and likely is out for the season. Logan Gourlie got hurt and is out at least two weeks.”

Gage Williams filled in at quarterback for the Rockets (1-4 overall, 0-2 SD3), while Deacon Gourlie made his season debut and had the majority of the carries out of the backfield.

Tucker Holton led the defense with eight tackles, while Marshall Hull and Dakota Enriquez each had a fumble recovery.
