Future Stars of the LPGA Tour Return to Pendleton this Summer as they ‘Race for the Card’

PENDLETON – Wildhorse Resort & Casino announced today the 2024 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic, an Epson Tour – Road to the LPGA event, will return to Pendleton, Oregon from August 16-18. The annual event is part of the Epson Tour, the official qualifying tour of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). The Epson Tour attracts top women golfers from around the world as they compete for one of fifteen slots on the LPGA Tour in 2025. A week of events kicks off Monday, Aug. 12 with the Locals Golf Invitational and includes a Pro-Am Tournament and free golf clinics for local kids featuring tournament players.

“We are proud to welcome the world’s best young women golfers to the Northwest again this summer, as we host the 2024 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic, an Epson Tour – Road to the LPGA event, in August,” said Gary E. George, Wildhorse Resort & Casino CEO. “For the third year in a row, Pendleton, Oregon residents and visitors can see these top athletes in action right in our backyard, as they compete for a chance to join the LPGA Tour in 2025.”

Selected by Golf Digest as “One of America’s top casino golf courses,” the Golf Course at Wildhorse Resort & Casino is an award-winning 18-hole championship course that is open to the public. It features five lakes, 66 sand bunkers, and over 7,000 yards of lush green perfection. Tickets are now on sale at wildhorseresort.com for the 2024 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic. Prices are $5 per day or $10 for a five-day event pass. Kids 12 years and younger are free to attend (All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult). Event organizers are still accepting volunteers to support the event.

Tee times are 7:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The tournament’s trophy presentation will take place at the 18th hole immediately following the final round held on Sunday, Aug. 18. Food and beverages are available to purchase during the event. Public parking is available at the Wildhorse Blvd. Field Parking Lot with shuttle service to the course available all day.

Founded in 1999 as the LPGA Futures Tour, the Epson Tour is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA, where players can earn LPGA Tour Membership through the ‘Race for the Card.’ More than 300 players have gone on to play on the LPGA Tour, including Epson Tour Players of the Year Gabriela Ruffels, Linnea Strom, Lilia Vu, Ana Belac, and Perrine Delacour. For the first time, in 2024, 15 of the top golfers will receive LPGA Tour cards for earning the most points on the 20-event tour. Current Epson Tour leaders include Fiona Xu (Australia), Cassie Porter (Australia), Kim Kaufman (US), Madison Young (US), and Yahui Zhang (China). The winner of the 2024 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic earns 500 points in the ‘Race for the Card.’
