Pendleton boys, girls cruise past Ontario in GOL action

PENDLETON — Pendleton improved to 2-3 in Greater Oregon League play with a 56-13 victory over winless Ontario on Friday night at Warberg Court.

“It was a good night to honor our seniors,” Pendleton coach Tim Foster said. “Chais (Surber), Katelyn (Boatman) and Avery (Quaempts) have been great leaders for us this year. We’ll definitely miss them next year.”

Pendleton (11-11 overall) wasted no time in taking control of the game, jumping out to a 26-4 lead after the first quarter, and held a 38-9 lead at the half.

The Bucks outscored the Tigers  20-4 in the second half for their second win in a row.

“We came out with good intensity and took care of business early,” Foster said. “Khim (Scott) was all over on the offensive end, and Presley (Greenwalt) was all over on the defensive end. They complemented each other really well, and everyone did a good job doing the ball and finding each other.”

Scott led Pendleton with 16 points, while Shaylor Fisher added 11 and Greewalt had seven.

Carla Lopez-Navarrete led Ontario (0-22, 0-5) with seven points.
