Hall a double winner at Columbia River Invite

BOARDMAN — Weston-McEwen’s Addy Hall was a double winner in the hurdles, winning the 100s in a time of 16.48 and the 300s in 47.37. She also was second in the 100 (13.02). Hall teamed up with Brooklyn Parker, Charlotte Hansell and Bree Perkins to place fifth in the 4×100 with a time of 52.91.

Hansell also was fourth in the 300 hurdles with a PR of 51.53, and seventh in the triple jump (30-3 1/2). Perkins added a fifth-place finish in the high jump (4-4), and Josephine Vorhauer tied for seventh in the pole vault (6-0).

In the throws, Elsie Sprenger led the TigerScots with a second-place finish in the discus (90-7) and was fourth in the shot put (29-1). Sydney Carey was third in the shot put (32-0) and sixth in the discus (87-2), while Mylie Garrett was sixth in the shot put (28-9). 

Joseph won the team title with 113.5 points, followed by Enterprise (106), Imbler (92.5) and Weston-McEwen (69.5). Echo was fifth with 44.5 points, while Griswold was sixth (44), Mac-Hi was seventh (39.5), Elgin eighth (37), Umatilla 11th (24.5), Pilot Rock 12th  (11), Riverside 13th (10) and Nixyaawii 17th (2).

Pilot Rock picked up all 11 of its points in the discus as Aubrey Corwin was third (90-6), Paige Hansen fifth (89-0) and Abigail Bensel eighth (83-5).

Emma Star-Nez earned all of Nixyaawii’s points with a seventh-place finish in the 800 with a PR of 2:50.08.

After a big day at the Kiwanis Twilight Invitational on Friday, Weston-McEwen’s Wyatt Parsons scaled back his events to two. He won the 100 with a time of 11.04, then teamed with Tristan Weseman, Logan Ray, and Colby Perkins to win the 4×100 relay with a time of 44.49.

Weseman went on to win the 200 with a time of 23.24, and the high jump at 5-9, while Ray was fifth in the triple jump (38-8 1/2), Perkins was fifth in the pole vault (9-6), and Michael White was fifth in the 400 (55.73).

In the distance races, Arden Shaul won the 1,500 for the TigerScots with a time of 4:16.17, and was fifth in the 800 (2:10.31).

Jace Dunlap had a productive day in the throws, winning the javelin with a toss of 147-9, and placing second in the shot put (45-4 1/2). Also in the shot put, Damian  Gonzalez was eighth (36-4). Enterprise won the boys’ team title with 103 points, with Weston-McEwen second with 85. Umatilla and Mac-Hi were a distant third with 55 points. Riverside was one point back with 54, while Griswold was seventh with 44, Imbler ninth with 42.5, Elgin 15th with 14.5, Irrigon 16th with 10, and Echo was 18th with two points.
