PENDLETON — Fresh off its Hawaiian tournament, Pendleton returned to Warberg Court on Thursday night for a 25-12, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22 victory over neighboring Weston-McEwen.
“We started a little slow getting down two sets, and fired back in set three,” W-M coach Marie Cain said. “We relaxed and got aggressive again, which was very nice to see. I’m proud of the girls and how they battled tonight. It was exciting to watch.”
Charlotte Hansell led the TigerScots (6-2) with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Addy Hall had 32 assists and nine digs, Eloise Hansell seven kills and 12 digs, and Bree Perkins 20 digs.
“Our defense did a great job picking up a lot of balls and we saw a lot of long rallies from it,” Cain said. “Bree really stepped up and dug a lot of balls tonight.”
Pendleton statistics were not available.
PILOT ROCK 3, DAYS CREEK/MONUMENT/LONG CREEK 0 — Gracee Hemphill had seven kills, 19 digs and three aces to help the Rockets to a 25-12, 25-21, 25-15 home win over the Tigers.
“We’re proud of the girls tonight,” Pilot Rock coach Shelby Journot said. “They came out focused, played together and took care of business in three. It’s always special to play at home in front of our family, friends and community. We’ll enjoy this one, then get back to work and use it to build some momentum heading into the weekend.”
Pilot Rock (3-4) also got nine assists and two kills from Kessa Litfin, while Jada Deist had five aces, five digs and two kills, Abbigail Johnson had 11 digs, and Abigail Bensel had two kills and one block.

REDMOND 5, PENDLETON 0 — The Bucks got treated to a game on turf, but it did not play in their favor in a road loss to the 5A Panthers.
“The score doesn’t not portray the game,” Pendleton coach Katherine Ryder said. “We held them 1-0 at halftime. Autumn (Severe) is out with a concussion, but our backup (Sophia Estrada) has been doing amazing. There were over 20 shots on goal. I am proud of my team and all of our improvements.”
Pendleton (0-3) will open Greater Oregon League play Sept. 15, when it hosts Ontario.
