CASCADE CHRISTIAN 3, PENDLETON 1 — The Bucks closed out their season with a 22-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 loss to the Challengers in a consolation loser-out game at North Bend High School.
“The girls came out fired up in set one and played well,” Pendleton coach Jodi Primus said. “We lost a little intensity and let the other sets barely slip away, unfortunately. We almost came back in the fourth, but fell short. Cascade Christian put up some really consistently high blocks that we haven’t seen a ton of this season, so our front row had to adjust and move the ball around the block.”
The Challengers also pounded the ball, but the Bucks were able to weather the storm with 65 digs.
“Our back row kept us in the game with a lot of good digs and passes under high pressure, and we definitely put up a fight,” Primus said. “This tournament had such good competition, so it was an honor to be part of that. I’m proud of how hard and well they have played this season and how much growth I saw. I think they will walk away with some great takeaways and memories.”
Caitlin Cooley had 30 assists, 10 digs and two kills, while McKinley Moore had 19 digs and a 2/3 serve-receive average; McKinley Lieuallen had 11 digs and was 17 of 17 from the service line; Olivia Allen had three blocks and four digs; Braelyn Gunter had seven kills and was 14 of 14 from the service line; and Kelsi Primus had five kills, two blocks and a 2/3 serve-receive average.
