Stanfield runs over Weston-McEwen in BMC play

STANFIELD — Fifth-ranked Stanfield opened the game with a 32-13 lead and never looked back in an 86-44 Blue Mountain Conference win over Weston-McEwen on Friday night.

“Stanfield is tough from behind the arc,” W-M coach Beck Kame said. “I’m proud of my guys.”

Stanfield (9-4 overall, 3-0 BMC) stretched its lead to 58-26 at the half, and held an 81-41 advantage after three. The Tigers sat their starters in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers hit 11 3-pointers on the night, and were 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Jace Dunlap paced the TigerScots (3-13, 0-3) with 17 points, with Jonny Leighty adding 11 and Colby Perkins eight.

Israel Monkus led Stanfield with 20 points, while Aaron Sanchez had 19, and Gabriel Mendez 13.
