COVE — Kash Bronson poured in 24 points, and Nixyaawii improved to 3-1 in Old Oregon League play with a 69-51 victory over Cove on Tuesday night.
Bronson scored 11 of his points in the first quarter as the Golden Eagles (8-9 overall) raced out to a 22-10 lead. Nixyaawii stretched its lead to 36-24 at the half as Jeffrey Van Pelt led the way in the second quarter with five points.
Andrew Simpson scored all seven of his points in the third quarter as the Golden Eagles went on a 21-8 run to put the game out of reach.
The Leopards (6-11, 0-4) outscored the Golden Eagles 19-12 in the fourth, but it didn’t make a dent in Nixyaawii’s lead.
Van Pelt added 16 points for the Golden Eagles, while Irvin Stewart had 12 and Cashis Bevis eight. Gavin Pedro paced the Leopards with 16 points, with Calvin Carson adding 14.
