PILOT ROCK — No. 8 Echo remains unbeaten in the Old Oregon League standings at 6-0 after beating Pilot Rock 56-24 on Tuesday night.
“We had to change up a lot tonight due to illness and injuries,” PR coach David Norton said. “Our girls stepped up and played hard.”
Echo (17-2 overall), which has won 13 games in a row, opened the game with a 13-9 lead, then stretched its lead to 32-14 at the half.
The Cougars put the game out of reach with a 15-2 run in the third quarter.
Cam Estes led Echo with 13 points and six rebounds, while Jaycee Campbell added 11 points and six steals, and Kenzie Hendrix had 10 points and six rebounds.
Sophomore Hailey Severe led the Rockets (13-6, 2-3) with 13 points, five rebounds and three steals, while freshman Autumn Severe added six points, and Hailey Thieme hauled down seven rebounds.
