PENDLETON — Khimora Scott had 28 points and was a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line, but it wouldn’t be enough as Pendleton dropped a 60-56 Greater Oregon League game to La Grande on Friday night at Warberg Court.
“Girls fought hard tonight,” Pendleton coach Tim Foster said. “If the ball bounces a different way, or a couple more shots fall, we get the win. We just couldn’t get over the hump.”
La Grande (10-8 overall, 3-0 GOL), which holds the top spot in the GOL standings, jumped out to a 19-10 lead in the first quarter behind nine points from Rowan Evans.

Scott tossed in 12 of her points in the second quarter as the Bucks went on a 16-8 run to pull within 27-26 at the half.
Pendleton (9-9, 1-2), which saw its three-game win streak come to an end, went into a scoring slump in the third as the Tigers went on a 20-7 scoring spree for a 47-33 lead.
Scott had nine points, and Shaylor Fisher added seven to lead the Bucks on a 23-13 run in the fourth, but they still fell short in the end.
“We were able to get to the rim quite a bit,” Foster said. “Khim scored a bunch inside and got to the line a lot, and Shaylor was really active inside as well. We’ll have to find a better way to slow down Evans next time, and work to get a few more rebounds, but the girls are doing things the right way. I’m excited to see what these next few weeks hold for us.”
Fisher added 13 points for Pendleton, while Paisley McLaughlin added five.
Evans led the Tigers with 25 points, with Taryn McIlmoil adding 12 and Ashlyn Orosco 11.
