IRRIGON — Pendleton’s Gabby Kennedy won the 235-pound title, and the Bucks placed third in the team standings Saturday at the Stokes Landing Invitational.
La Grande won the team title with 163 points, with Tillamook second (105) and Pendleton third with 98. Riverside was sixth (72), Echo/Stanfield eighth (66), Irrigon ninth (65.5), Heppner 11th (47), Umatilla 14th (24) and Mac-Hi 15th (20).
Kennedy had a bye to the semifinals, where she pinned Grace Aufdermauer of Tillamook in 2:42. In the championship match, Kennedy posted a 7-2 decision over Emma Stalcup of Estacada.
At 120 pounds, Hazel Case was second for the Bucks, winning her semifinal match by fall before getting pinned by Tillamook’s Claire Travis in 44 seconds in the finals.
Thiri Dahl was second at 155, winning her semifinal match by fall in 22 seconds to reach the finals. In the title bout, Nyssa’s Emelyn Aguayo beat Dahl 13-12.
Madison Chase was second at 190 for the Bucks. She pinned her first three opponents before getting pinned by Vale’s Aubrey Maupin in 1:03 in the finals.
Harlee James was third for Pendleton at 190, pinning Hailey Wright of Union/Cove in 5:50 in the placing match.
