Aubrey Corwin had 10 aces and Kashley Golden had nine kills, but the Rockets fell short against the Huskies 25-20- 25-21, 15-25, 25-18 in the first round of the Old Oregon League District Tournament at Baker High School.
“The girls played well today,” Pilot Rock coach Jen Porter said. “They played really aggressively and had so much positive energy on the court. Unfortunately, we didn’t come out of this with a win.”
Kennedy Moore led Elgin, going 20 of 20 from the service line with one ace, while Carley McLaughlin had 11 digs and was dominant in serve receive.
Coley Gibbs had 18 digs for the Rockets, while Kessa Litfin had 17 digs and seven assists, Gracee Hemphill three blocks, Lillie Holman five kills, and Corwin eight assists.
“It has truly been an honor coaching this team,” Porter said. “The girls have been such a cohesive group this entire season. We will all miss having our lone senior Lillie Holman next year. She has been an amazing leader.
The Rockets finished the season with a 7-16 season.
