PILOT ROCK 47, NIXYÁAWII 26 — The Rockets picked up their first Old Oregon League win with a road win over the Golden Eagles.
“We played good defense today,” Pilot Rock coach David Norton said.
The Rockets (4-9 overall, 1-1 OOL) led 10-5 after the first quarter and 20-9 at the half. They broke the game open with a 16-6 run in the third quarter to take a commanding 36-15 lead.
Each team scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Rockets preserve the win.
Paige Hansen led Pilot Rock with 12 points, while Gracee Hemphill added 10 and Elizabeth Hearn nine.
Liana Stewart led Nixyáawii (3-9, 0-1) with a game-high 15 points and four steals, while Brooklyn Jones added five points, and BayBay Matamoros had five rebounds.
