MISSION – The Umatilla Tribal Police Department (UTPD) is requesting public assistance in locating 71-year-old Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) member Wesley Dixon Jones.
Jones’ family members reported him missing at approximately 10:44 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, after he had not been seen since early that afternoon. He is described as 5-feet 8-inches tall and approximately 140 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and red Tigerscott jacket, black shirt, black sweatpants and boots.
UTPD officials said there is no accurate information on his whereabouts and that his vehicle was located at his residence with a flat tire. Officials said family member believe Jones had gone fishing at an unknown location along the Umatilla River.
UTPD officers have searched several areas along the river and around Jones’ former residence. UTPD officers and family members continue to search for Jones, and members of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue are assisting by searching the river with drones.
