Trevon Allen continues basketball career in Italy

CTUIR member Trevon Allen is moving up in the European basketball ranks.
The standout professional basketball player signed with Pallacanestro Cantu Basketball. The team has a storied history in the EuroLeague, including five Italian titles, two EuroLeague titles, and 10 FIBA Cup titles.
“It’s official,” Allen said in a July 20 Facebook post. “Next stop for year two… ITALY! I am excited for this next step. God continues to build my path and allow me to play the game at the highest level!”
Allen, 23, averaged 19.5 points. 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists for Starogard Gdanski in Poland last season.
The team announced his signing on July 19, stating, “Allen is a very physical player who loves to throw himself into the area with determination, bravely facing even bigger opponents. Agile and explosive when it comes to attacking the iron therefore, but also ordered in the direction.
“Allen, in fact, is able to manage the rhythms of the game very well and to put himself at the service of his teammates when needed. Finally, since high school, he has always had a strong propensity to make a basket, showing that he is not afraid to take heavy shots and responsibility.”
Pallacanestro Cantu has had several notable basketball players in uniform, including former NBA players Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest), Michael Curry and Thurl Bailey.
Allen, a former University of Idaho and Clarkston High School standout, is the son of Alan Allen and Sonya Samuels-Allen.

NEW CLOTHING LINE

On July 30, Allen announced the release of a new clothing line that bears his initials TA.
There are shirts and a hooded sweatshirt for sale, which contain the statement “W-IN-S” which stands for work in silence, to which Allen says is “more than just a saying, it’s a mindset; a mindset you can apply to all areas of life!”
